About OpenToolsKit

OpenToolsKit is an open-source browser tool platform with 95+ PDF tools, a workflow editor, and public source distribution.

Our Mission

We believe private browser tools should stay accessible, inspectable, and useful beyond a single file format. That is why OpenToolsKit has been shaped into a broader browser-tool platform.

Unlike traditional services that depend on remote processing for routine document work, OpenToolsKit keeps core flows in the browser where applicable and keeps source availability visible through a public AGPL repository.

The current public site focuses on PDF tools, workflow editing, and source-visible browser utilities while preparing the platform for additional tool families.

Our Values

Privacy First

Your files never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser, ensuring complete privacy and security.

Fast & Efficient

Powered by modern web technologies, OpenToolsKit delivers lightning-fast PDF processing without the need for uploads or downloads.

Accessible Everywhere

Available in 13 locales and works on any device with a modern browser. No installation required.

Free Forever

OpenToolsKit is completely free to use with no hidden costs, no registration required, and no limits on usage.

Open Source

Built with transparency in mind. Our code is open source, allowing anyone to verify our privacy claims.

Community Driven

Developed with feedback from users around the world. We continuously improve based on your needs.

Built with Modern Technology

OpenToolsKit is built using cutting-edge web technologies to ensure the best possible experience:

  • Next.js - For fast, SEO-friendly page rendering
  • WebAssembly - For near-native PDF processing performance
  • Web Workers - For non-blocking background processing
  • pdf-lib & PDF.js - Industry-standard PDF manipulation libraries
  • IndexedDB - For secure local storage of your work

This stack supports browser tools, static export, local processing, and public-source trust surfaces without forcing a server-bound editing model.

Clearly derived, clearly different

OpenToolsKit is based on PDFCraft under AGPL-3.0, then reworked into a broader browser-tool platform with a new shell, theme system, sponsor model, workflow/editor focus, and Cloudflare deployment path.

Public source stays visible

The live service points to a public GitHub repository so users can inspect code, report bugs, and verify the AGPL source corresponding to the production deployment.

Clear project boundaries

The site separates browser-side file processing, public source obligations, support paths, and optional funding surfaces so users can understand what each part of the project does.
